Jeff Kempster

 

Jeff has been a practising accountant since 1991. After qualifying with Joliffe Cork in 1976 he worked in the investigations department of Stoy Hayward.

In 1982 Jeff was appointed Financial Director of The Maintenance Company Limited, where he carried out a fundamental restructuring of the company, creating a profitable organisation from a failing private company. In 1987 he joined Sock Shop and was appointed Financial Director. After the disastrous attempt by senior management to set up Sock Shop in the USA, the company failed and Jeff was the only member of the UK management board who was retained to assist the Administrators throughout the period of the administration. Jeff has extensive knowledge of both the retail industry and organisations undergoing rapid growth. During the expansion phase of Sock Shop Jeff was responsible for opening 5 new shops per month.

Jeff has been an authorised auditor, and has considerable knowledge of both corporate and personal taxation. Jeff is responsible for the design and development of the book-keeping systems written in Microsoft Excel; he is an experienced Excel developer, and he frequently writes bespoke spreadsheet system for clients.

Jeff also works extensively with the Caseware product which is used for the production of statutory accounts, including using the product to produce the annual accounts for commercial organisations where we are not the auditors.
